A patchwork made from a repurposed cotton sock and red sewing thread, featured in the exhibition Konsthantverkliga Lagningar / Craft-Based Repairs at Studio K18 in Stockholm, February and March 2025.
We Are Making Out with a Nosebleed is made from a worn cotton sock, cut apart and reconstructed into a patchwork held together with red sewing thread. The traces of the sock’s previous use remain visible in the material: stains, discoloration, stretched fibres and worn surfaces become part of the work rather than something to be concealed.
The red seams move across the pale fabric almost like exposed veins, holding together fragments of something intimate and already used. Loose threads are left hanging from the work, allowing the act of reconstruction to remain visible and unresolved.
The title places tenderness beside something bodily and slightly uncomfortable. A kiss and a nosebleed occupy the same moment, bringing intimacy, desire and the physical reality of the body into contact. Like the material itself, the encounter is marked by what has happened to it. The work considers how traces of use, touch and closeness can become a form of memory, and how something worn or damaged can be preserved without erasing the evidence of its previous life.

We Are Making Out with a Nosebleed är skapat av en använd bomullsstrumpa som klippts isär och satts samman på nytt med röd sytråd. Spåren efter strumpans tidigare liv finns kvar i materialet: fläckar, missfärgningar, uttänjda fibrer och slitna ytor blir en del av verket istället för något som döljs.
De röda sömmarna löper genom det bleka tyget nästan som blottade blodkärl och håller samman fragment av något intimt och kroppsnära. De lösa trådarna lämnas hängande, vilket gör rekonstruktionen synlig och samtidigt ofullständig.
Titeln för samman ömhet med något kroppsligt och lätt obekvämt. En kyss och ett näsblod existerar i samma ögonblick, där närhet, begär och kroppens fysiska verklighet möts. Precis som materialet bär mötet spår av det som har hänt. Verket undersöker hur användning, beröring och närhet lämnar avtryck och kan fungera som en form av minne, och hur något slitet eller skadat kan bevaras utan att spåren av dess tidigare liv suddas ut.
